I love creating healthy recipes using ingredients that really have a nutritional value benefits for our health like... what I am about to eat is going to do something good for me, there is when I try to create good-for-us recipes that are simple healthy and delicious.
The power ingredients I chose for this recipe are Turmeric and Cayenne powder.
Turmeric is a yellow powder spice the key ingredient in curry powder that gives the powder its yellow shade and can prevent certain cancers such as breast cancer and prostate cancer, it can protect you against Arthritis and Alzheimer disease. These are just a few benefits Turmeric offers and there are much more. Cayenne pepper fights inflammation, joint-pain reliever, anti cancer agent it can prevent lung cancer in smokers, anti-oxidant, treats blood clot, anti-cold and flu agent and there are much more.
So I decided to create a recipe in which these two powerful healthy healing ingredients would fit perfectly and I can use it almost everyday. As I really use yogurt dressing for almost everything therefore I am always making new dressings as yogurt-shallots-Dijon, yogurt-dill-lemon , yogurt-mint garlic. Turmeric and Cayenne can be used in just about everything and I want to use both as often as possible so I made this delicious yogurt dressing to use in salads, potatoes, to top a chicken or fish dish or even to spread on your favorite toast. Here is my "Power Yogurt Dressing" which I ended up topping my favorite roasted potatoes, I love roasted red potatoes.
Note: To those that never had Turmeric before, it actually doesn't have a strong taste at all it is almost like it doesn't have a taste but indeed has potential benefits.
1 cup of natural yogurt
1/3 cup of fresh chopped parsley
1/3 cup of chopped scallions
*pinch of turmeric powder
*pinch of cayenne pepper
*pinch of black pepper
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp of apple cider vinegar
paprika for the last touch
Note: *I use the "just a pinch" spoon on my measure spoons set.
Very easy. Mix well all the ingredients in a bowl then transfer to a pretty dish to serve. Drizzle a little bit of olive oil and sprinkle with just a little bit of paprika for a nice presentation.
I steam my potatoes then smashed them just enough, take to a 400 oven for 25 minutes to roast so they get golden and crisp. and topped with the delicious Turmeric-Cayenne Yogurt Dressing.
